About Me

Welcome to my site!  And thanks to my son Dylan and his friend Max for making this happen.

My quilting adventure started around 1990 after meeting someone who had an antique quilt hanging on her wall and the simple sentence, “I would love to learn to quilt!”  We decided right then to pursue a friendship and learn to quilt together.  Martha and I are still quilting together.  Between us we have 7 children and I was doing daycare in my home in order to stay at home with my kids.  There was little money but we made the best of it, took classes, shopped sales and were having a blast.

Jump forward about 10 years, my husband and I, along with our 4 children, have moved from MO to FL, I have at this point been doing daycare for 20 years, my youngest is 10 and I need a break from wiping noses and bottoms!  But with 3 teens still in the house I feel I need to be home more than ever.  I then took the biggest leap I could imagine and bought my Gammill Classic.  My sewing circle the Wild Turkeys were the biggest support system a girl could ask for and away we went.

Two years later and we make the move to TX.  Of course, finding quilting friends is pretty easy and I have found some of the best!  I have been fortunate to be in the right place at the right time more than once, and have been able to quilt with the fabric companies Moda and Andover. Jo Morton, Four Corners Designs and Fat Quarter Shop have been wonderful to work with, as well as all my amazing and loyal customers.

Now 14 years after buying my first Gammill I have purchased a second Gammill with a Statler Stitcher.  For now, I am concentrating on doing edge to edge quilting with the Statler and custom quilting on my Classic.  This has been an amazing journey.  I am so grateful to everyone who has quilted with me over the years and look forward to meeting many more quilting buddies.
